Story
As part of the Mizuho's Sydney Branch CSR Initiative, we are very pleased to announce that we will again be participating in Mizuho's Global Volunteer Day in 2012!
This year, we have selected the Sydney Running Festival, Sunday 16 September 2012, an event that allows staff and family/friends to get involved in one of several different ways, and help raise funds for an important Australian charity, Surf Life Saving Foundation (the fundraising body for Surf Life Saving in Australia).
Those participating in one of the 4 events of the day will be completing a challenging course over the Harbour Bridge, around Sydney's CBD, and finishing at the Opera House Steps. Others will show their support by volunteering on the day at the Sussex Street Drinks Station, or by providing support and food supplies to our entrants!
Please show your support for Volunteer Day and this worthwhile charity by making a donation. Whether your donation is for an individual entering an event, or in support of Mizuho's Volunteer Day and Surf Life Saving in general, every dollar makes a difference.

Surf Life Saving Foundation
Surf Life Saving has a proud tradition of saving lives for over 100 years. Since 1907, Surf Lifesavers have volunteered their time and effort to provide a dedicated lifesaving service around the country.
The Surf Life Saving Foundation is the fundraising body for Surf Life Saving in Australia. We rely heavily on the support from the community to continue providing a vital service and keeping our beaches safe.
Saving life, protecting life, promoting life. Surf Life Saving epitomises the lifestyle, values and beliefs of the Australian culture.
Every time you make that conscious decision to swim between the red and yellow flags or take your family and friends to a patrolled beach, you are using the volunteer service.
The beach is free but actively providing this lifesaving service does cost, and with limited funds from Government it really is community donations that keep us afloat. Everyday Australians can help, and every day we will save lives. Help volunteer Surf Life Savers continue to put life first.
